The average American generates over 24 tons of carbon every year, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. That’s a lot. About the Arbor Day Foundation
When J. Sterling Morton founded Arbor Day back in 1872, his idea was simple—set aside a special day for tree planting. And today, that idea is more important than ever. The Foundation has grown to become the largest nonprofit membership organization dedicated to planting trees, with over one million members, supporters, and valued partners.
